Our
story

Glen Morey Estate is a third generation diversified family farm in the Midlands of Tasmania. Our vision is sustainable and ethical production of high quality products utilising our exceptionally healthy soils and clean water. The cool, clean Tasmanian conditions north of Oatlands, provide the perfect environment for producing the finest quality extra virgin olive oil.

The olive oil

We currently grow 1600 trees in our 5 hectare grove.  There are 5 main varieties: 

Boutillan, Black Italian, LeCurre, Nevadillo (Picual) and Manzanillo.

The olives are currently grown using organic farming principles. There have been no artificial fertilisers or chemicals applied to this grove in the last five years.

The olives are hand harvested using mechanical rakes. Currently a crew of four take about 5 weeks to harvest the entire grove.

The olives are then cold pressed into Extra Virgin Olive Oil by Ashbolt Farm in New Norfolk, as soon as possible once harvested.
